Thailand Digital Arrival Card: What Travelers Need to Know Before Entering Thailand

Planning a trip, relocation, or property-viewing visit to Thailand? Before you arrive, make sure you complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), the official online arrival form for non-Thai nationals entering the country.

The TDAC replaces the traditional paper arrival card and is designed to make Thailand’s immigration process faster, more secure, and easier for international travelers entering by air, land, or sea.

What Is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card?

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is an online pre-arrival form used by Thai immigration authorities to collect traveler, passport, trip, accommodation, and health declaration information before entry into Thailand.

According to the official TDAC guide from Thailand’s Immigration Bureau, the system helps streamline immigration procedures, strengthen border security, and support public health management for international arrivals.

Who Needs to Submit the TDAC?

All non-Thai nationals entering Thailand are required to complete the TDAC online before arrival. This applies whether you enter Thailand by:

  • Air
  • Land
  • Sea

Thai nationals are not required to submit the TDAC. Foreign children and infants must also have a TDAC. Transit passengers who do not pass through immigration are generally not required to submit one.

When Should You Submit the TDAC?

Travelers should submit the TDAC within 3 days before arriving in Thailand, including the arrival date. For example, if you arrive on the 10th, you can submit the form from the 8th onward.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand confirms that TDAC registration is required within 3 days before arrival and has been mandatory for non-Thai nationals since 1 May 2025.

Where to Submit the TDAC

Submit your Thailand Digital Arrival Card only through the official Immigration Bureau website:

https://tdac.immigration.go.th

The official TDAC website states that the service has no fee. Travelers should avoid unofficial websites that request payment for standard TDAC submission.

What Information Do You Need?

Prepare the following details before starting your TDAC application:

  • Passport information
  • Personal details, such as full name, date of birth, and nationality
  • Flight number, arrival date, or border entry information
  • Travel purpose
  • Accommodation address in Thailand
  • Health declaration information, where required
  • Email address to receive your TDAC confirmation and QR code

How to Complete the TDAC Step by Step

Individual Submission

  • Go to the official TDAC website.
  • Click “Arrival Card.”
  • Enter your personal and passport details. You may scan or upload your passport MRZ to help fill in the form.
  • Enter your travel and accommodation information.
  • Complete any required health declaration details.
  • Review your information carefully.
  • Enter your email address.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions, then submit the form.
  • Download your TDAC confirmation or keep the QR code from your email.

Group Submission

Families and groups can submit multiple travelers in one application. The official TDAC FAQ states that up to 10 travelers can be included in one submission.

Can You Edit a Submitted TDAC?

Yes. You can update your TDAC before entering Thailand by using the “Update Arrival Card” function on the official website.

However, some details cannot be changed after submission, including:

  • Full name as shown in the passport
  • Nationality or citizenship
  • Date of birth

If important details cannot be edited, the official FAQ advises submitting a new form with the correct information. The most recent valid submission will be used.

Important TDAC Notes for Travelers

  • The TDAC is not a visa. You must still meet Thailand’s visa, visa exemption, or visa-on-arrival requirements.
  • The TDAC is valid for one entry only. You need a new TDAC each time you enter Thailand.
  • You do not always need to print the TDAC, but you should keep the QR code available on your phone or device.
  • The form should be completed in English.
  • TDAC does not send travel reminders, so submit it before your trip.

Why TDAC Matters for Relocation and Property Visits

If you are visiting Thailand to explore condos, inspect rental homes, relocate with your family, or plan a long-term stay, completing the TDAC correctly can help make your arrival smoother.

Property seekers often travel with tight schedules for viewings, meetings, and neighborhood visits. Having your TDAC submitted before arrival helps reduce avoidable delays at immigration and allows you to focus on your move or property search with greater confidence.

Final Checklist Before You Travel

  • Check that your passport details match exactly.
  • Confirm your arrival date and flight or entry details.
  • Use your correct accommodation address in Thailand.
  • Submit the TDAC within 3 days before arrival.
  • Save the TDAC QR code on your phone and email.

For travelers planning to relocate, rent, or buy property in Bangkok and nearby areas, preparing your arrival documents in advance is a simple but important first step toward a smoother move to Thailand.
